Concerts
The company organizes many cultural events of a high
artistic standard. Besides daily promenade concerts during the summer season, there are chamber music and vocal concerts, and performances by prominent music groups offering singing,
ballet, dance, theater and opera.The climax of cultural life here is the International
Music Summer, a traditional annual festival featuring artistic
personalities. Appearing here have been, for example, The Slovak Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Brunae (Czech),
Trio Chiaroscuro (Dutch), Nicolas Kloc (French), and Serge Ferrara (French).
Among the concerts held at the Colonnade, an unforgetable popular event for visitors is the
„Slovak Tango“
, a Slovak wind ensemble competition.
Skanzen
Skanzen (outdoor folk architecture museum)
Near the center of the spa is the Museum of Folk Architecture (skanzen), part of the Šariš Museum. On display here are examples of old architectural styles, includingfurnishings and work implements, from the Carpathian
region. Various cultural events of interest take place here: performances by folk song-and-dance groups from different regions of Slovakia, and presentations by craftsmen demonstrating pottery-making, blacksmithing,weaving, and carving.
In the Villa Rákoczi there is an ethnological exhibit. On display are richly ornamented Šariš area folk costumes,other clothing, folk footwear, and products of other folk craftsmen: whistles, baskets, jugs, candles, brooms, etc.
You will also find here a permanent display laying out the history of Bardejov Spa and its baths.
Exhibits
Inside the Colonnade, different works of art are displayed throughout the year. Just to mention a few, there have been exhibits of gladiolas
, paintings
, and architectural works
, as well as exhibits devoted to charities. At the various hotels in the spa,
permanent displays of works by prominent painters and sculptors are to be found.
Other Cultural Events
It has become a tradition at the spa to open the summer season at the open-air swimming pool each year in the
presence of dignitaries from local and national government, as well as business people. Performing are a wide variety of talents, such as old-style swordsmen, singers, country dance groups and bands. The
magnificent fireworks are an unforgettable experience. For those among the guests of the spa who prefer a
different way of relaxing, there are a library and a reading
room, offering fiction, non-fiction, and reference books of Slovak and foreign origin.
Culture The company holds on the premises specialized events (conferences, congresses, seminars, courses) focusing on
various areas of interest, but especially those more closely related to the functions of a health resort, e.g.,
pediatric days, gastroenterology days, oncology days.
Every day there is live music to dance to, or just listen to, in the spa hotels.
